Efficiency and responsible conduct are key guiding principles for ALMiG. They are incorporated into the development and refinement of our products, the design of our processes and our internal policies. In doing so, we also take into account collaboration with our staff and the support we provide to our customers in our day-to-day work.
Our understanding
For us, sustainability means taking responsibility – towards society, our company, our employees and the way we work.
We do not view environmental, social and corporate governance issues – collectively known as ESG – in isolation from one another. We take these three areas into account when making relevant decisions and in our business processes. In doing so, we regularly review where we can further develop our approaches and align our actions with our relevant principles.

Environmental responsibility at ALMiG applies both to our products and solutions and to our own actions. With technologies such as speed-controlled compressors and heat recovery systems, we can help businesses tailor their energy consumption to their actual compressed air requirements and make further use of existing waste heat – for example, to heat buildings or production areas. The specific impact depends, amongst other things, on the particular design, the operating conditions and the system configuration.
Within our own company, too, we are working to measure and reduce our environmental impact. To this end, we collect relevant environmental indicators, analyse consumption patterns and use these to derive measures for a more efficient use of energy and resources. Our integration into group-wide sustainability processes helps us to track developments and systematically refine our measures.
We view sustainability as a shared responsibility. That is why we keep our staff informed and raise awareness of the responsible use of resources. Internal measures and initiatives provide opportunities to take environmental considerations into account in our day-to-day work.

Our staff are a vital part of our business operations. That is why we are committed to creating a working environment characterised by respect, equal opportunities and prospects for professional development.
As a company bound by a collective agreement, we pay in accordance with the IG Metall collective agreement for the metalworking industry. Flexible working time arrangements and clearly defined working conditions complement what we offer. As a training organisation, we train skilled workers for the future and support young people on their career paths. Furthermore, we support the professional and personal development of our employees through training and qualification programmes. In doing so, we aim to recognise performance, commitment and individual development regardless of gender, ethnic origin, age, religion, disability or sexual identity.
Health and safety at work are further key priorities. Training courses – for example, on first aid and fire safety – health days and other health promotion initiatives help to create a safe and health-conscious working environment.
Our responsibility does not end at the factory gates. We are actively involved in our region through collaboration with schools, universities and regional educational institutions, as well as by supporting local initiatives. Activities such as ‘Stadtradeln’ (city cycling), company runs or blood donation drives offer opportunities for community and social engagement. Internal communication channels also raise our employees’ awareness of sustainability and ESG issues and foster a corporate culture in which responsibility and continuous improvement play a key role.

Quality is a top priority at ALMiG – from the initial customer enquiry right through to the finished product. Our management systems are regularly audited by external bodies and provide the organisational framework for defined processes and their continuous improvement.
Our existing certifications and standards include:
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality management within the respective certified scope
- ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management within the respective certified scope
- ISO 22163:2023 Additional quality management standard for the railway industry
The specific scopes of application and the validity of the certificates can be found in the respective current certification documents.
In addition, our internal Code of Conduct sets out the principles guiding our actions. These include, amongst others, integrity, ethical conduct, diversity, health and safety at work, environmental responsibility, data protection and compliance with legal requirements.
Sustainability and ESG issues are embedded within ALMiG’s organisational structure. Responsibilities for environmental management and ESG, regular reporting, and integration into group-wide sustainability processes support transparent reporting and the further development of our strategy. Relevant ESG indicators are recorded across all departments. Internal training courses, information sessions and a regular ESG feature in the company newsletter encourage engagement with sustainability issues and lay the foundations for responsible corporate governance.
In accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act, we have established an internal reporting channel. This enables reports to be submitted in line with the applicable guidelines. A designated data protection officer and defined compliance processes complement our structures for responsible and transparent corporate governance.
