VARIABLE XP compressor series

With the integrated frequency converter, the specially designed motor runs only at the speed required to generate the necessary volume of compressed air. This helps to reduce idle times. The system is therefore suitable for a cost-effective and efficient compressed air supply. The product range offers delivery rates from 0.89 to 35 m³/min at operating pressures of 5 to 13 bar. During the development of the new VARIABLE XP screw compressor series, the cooling air flow was optimised. This improves the reliability and service life of the components. Additional sound insulation allows the system to be installed even in areas with stringent noise protection requirements.

Market analyses show that compressors are, on average, utilised at only around 50–70 %. However, the maximum flow rate is usually only required at peak times. That is why we have developed ALMiG SCD technology, whose strength lies in the partial-load range – in other words, the range in which demand-based adjustment is particularly relevant.
SCD technology stands for speed control (speed controlled) and direct drive (direct drive) as a highly cost-effective drive concept. Depending on operating conditions, this can result in energy savings of up to 35 % through:

• speed control
• continuously adjustable system pressure from 5 to 13 bar
• high system efficiency
• reduced start-up and switching current peaks
• reduced idle times
