ALMiG is one of the 100 companies for resource efficiency!

ALMiG was included in the list of "100 companies for resource efficiency" of the state of Baden-Württemberg with the project "Heat at zero cost".

Sustainability is an opportunity for the economy and the environment. But it also requires efforts to conserve natural resources and keep them available. The state government of Baden-Württemberg would therefore like to draw attention to innovative actions that make it possible to decouple production growth from resource consumption or the generation of greenhouse gases. For this reason, the initiative "100 Companies for Resource Efficiency" was launched, which is intended to show, by means of concrete examples of excellence from companies in the region, that resource efficiency is an opportunity to increase competitiveness.

Together with its own customer, Kurt Kauffmann Technische Federn GmbH, ALMiG applied for the project. Under the title "Heat at zero cost", the focus was on heat recovery and its enormous energy-saving potential.
This is because the potential for utilizing waste heat from compressors has been underestimated by many operators of compressed air stations to date. What is impressive about heat recovery is the simple way in which energy can be made usable again, thus saving money.
So if you have a use for the heat from your compressor station, you get it for free. Because every kilowatt hour that can be recovered in the form of thermal energy means a saving elsewhere in the company.

Kauffmann has two BELT 50 and one VARIABLE 70, each equipped with an integrated heat recovery system. A plate heat exchanger transfers the heat from the oil circuit of the compressor to the service water. The individually tailored solution enables Kauffmann to make holistic use of the heat, not only in the form of heating water for the production rooms, but also as sanitary water for washrooms. In total, the savings in heating oil amount to around €120,000 per year, by which the company can reduce its operating costs through the use of waste heat. At the same time, the CO2 balance is reduced by 720 tons per year.

With this push for greater resource efficiency, ALMiG and Kauffmann have together qualified for inclusion in the list of 100 companies of excellence. A great distinction.
